This week, Assemblyman Jay Obernolte recognized Adelanto-based Exquadrum, Inc. as the 2016 Business of the Year for the 33rd Assembly District. Owners Kevin Mahaffy and Eric Schmidt were honored at a ceremony in Sacramento during the California Small Business Association’s annual event on Wednesday.
“Kevin and Eric exemplify what it means to give back to their local communities,” said Obernolte. “Not only are they entrepreneurs that have created jobs in the High Desert, but they work with our school children to encourage them to be future engineers and innovators, both extremely important to help fuel our economy. I want to congratulate them on their successful business and their many achievements.”
Kevin and Eric, both natives of the High Desert, founded Exquadrum, Inc in 2002. It is a research and development engineering corporation that specializes in innovating and developing state-of-the-art solutions in rocket propulsion, defense against weapons of mass destruction, advanced manufacturing, and alternative energy.
Exquadrum is focused on innovation with an eye toward protecting our country and is currently the prime contractor developing a high-performance rocket engine for NASA’s return to manned space operations.
In addition to their business endeavors, Exquadrum partners with local schools to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education and sponsor programs that inspire our school kids to become engineers and scientists.
