Exquadrum Awarded $5 Million in Missile Defense Agency R&D Funding

Exquadrum will be demonstrating the highest performing controllable solid rocket technology

VICTORVILLE, California, 24 October 2025 – Exquadrum, Inc. of Victorville, California has been awarded $5 million in research and development (R&D) funding by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This latest round of funding will result in the demonstration of the highest performing, controllable solid rocket motor propulsion technology to date, which is based on Exquadrum’s patented liquid augmented solid rocket (LASR) technology, and thrusters based on the newly developed and demonstrated solid divert and attitude control system (SDACS). Exquadrum Achieves Successful Full-scale Hypersonic Sounding Rocket Static Test

Exquadrum’s test prepares TopFuel rocket propulsion for hypersonic flight test in 2025

VICTORVILLE, California, 16 August 2024 – Exquadrum, Inc. of Victorville, California, successfully completed a hot-fire test of an innovative, 21-inch, TopFuel rocket propulsion stage being developed to accomplish hypersonic sounding rocket missions under contract to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Exquadrum conducted the test of the 17.5-foot-long rocket stage at the company’s 33-acre FORGE Development and Rocket Test Facility at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, California. U.S. Navy Awards Exquadrum Contract to Demonstrate Real-Time Thrust Control of Solid Propellants

VICTORVILLE, CA. 17 Jul 2024 – Exquadrum, Inc. has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy to demonstrate real-time thrust control of solid propellants, under a program entitled Electric Pulse Ignition Controllable SRM (EPICS). This program will demonstrate the feasibility of a breakthrough in propellant formulation that provides safe ignition in response to a specialized electrical input. The contract, out of NAVAIR/NAWC Weapons Division, China Lake, CA, seeks to develop technology to enable real-time thrust control of tactical solid propellant rocket motors to achieve the U.S. Navy’s vision for collaborative munitions where in-flight missiles can be redirected and throttled to engage evolving threats. Exquadrum Demonstrates a Tactical Air-to-Air Solid Rocket Motor
Advanced solid propellant development enables high-performance air-to-air missiles

VICTORVILLE, CA, 12 September 2022 – Exquadrum has achieved a successful static test of a new solid rocket motor for tactical air-to-air missile applications. The 1,000-lbf thrust-class motor was tested at Exquadrum’s FORGE test site located at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, CA. This exciting motor firing completes a static test series that clears the way for the motor to proceed to ground-launch flight testing at the end of 2022 and demonstrates Exquadrum’s solid rocket motor design, fabrication, and testing capabilities. ADELANTO — Student engineering teams watched off camera as water exploded from their 3-D printed, sphere-shaped containers. Yelps of excitement and disappointment filled the small trailer packed with students, engineers and a film crew. Apple Valley, Hesperia and Sultana high school engineering teams were put to the task of creating a container that would be injected with water that could withstand up to 500 pounds of pressure per square inch for 10 seconds at the lowest weight possible. ADELANTO – A local technology engineering company has shelved an innovative wind turbine project its officials had touted as having the potential to revolutionize the wind energy industry. In 2009, Adelanto-based Exquadrum won a prototype contract to develop the Orbital Track Turbine, which Vice President of Engineering Eric Schmidt said had the potential to outpower traditional turbines and go into production at a much cheaper cost.
